Civil Service Commission of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established

The Civil Service Commission of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Commission is independent of the departments and services it regulates. It sets the standards to which appointments to the civil service are made, maintains the Civil Service Code, keeps the grade structure of the service, hears complaints about recruitment and conduct, and reports on the size and composition of the workforce.

The Commission consists of a First Commissioner and six Commissioners. Commissioners are appointed for a single term of five years and may not hold a post in the civil service, or accept one, during their term or in the year following it. Decisions on complaints are taken by a panel of three Commissioners, and no Commissioner may sit on a case concerning a department in which the Commissioner has previously served.

With its establishment complete, the Commission today launches its official website at civil-service.gov.vin. The site carries the recruitment principles, the Civil Service Code, the grade structure, the complaints and appeals procedure, the Commission's statistical releases and its press notices.
